It’s now February 2025. Most of you are thinking of either buying or selling a home. The Denver market is one of the most competitive markets in the nation. Up there with Los Angeles, San Francisco, NYC, Miami, and a few more other popular destinations, living in Denver could cost you a pretty penny. With high interest rates at near 7% it’s going to be a buyers market this year. Buyer’s are looking for great deals by either lowering the purchase price or getting something on the backend with some form of seller concessions. Having an experienced Realtor is a must in a market such as Denver. Buyers make sure you have your Realtor ask for everything including the kitchen sink. It doesn’t hurt to ask. The worst the seller can say is no. The ability to negotiate is key to landing your dream home at a fair price. As for sellers, it’s not going to be peachy and your home may sit longer on the market. The covid years have long gone and the time of 7 minute listings have turned into 30-45 days on the market maybe even more. The key for sellers is to have your Realtor understand the market and price the home accordingly and knowingly account for a possible seller concession to get negotiations rolling.
